What? A natural, easy way to clean your oven too?

Yes!  I learned a natural tip for cleaning ovens WAY before I was a property manager, and here it is - now, you'll need a couple of hours, so make sure you do this a day or two before you have to move out -

  1. Turn on your oven to about 150C
  2. Take an oven proof bowl and fill with water
  3. Take one or two lemons (limes will also work) and squeeze the juice into the water
  4. Place the bowl into the oven
  5. Once you see the water start to boil, turn off your oven and leave it until the oven has cooled down.
  6. Remove the bowl and you should be able to easily wipe away the grease!

Give me the easiest way to clean my oven!  I don't mind using chemicals!

Ok, now, we know people live differently.  Some people clean their oven every week - great job peeps!  And, for some it might be a lot less - but, when it comes to moving out, your oven needs to look like brand new.  How do you get your oven to shine like a diamond, when it's covered in grease, the racks are no longer silver thanks to baked on food and you can't see through the glass door?

There is a solution and it is quite astounding.  It is caustic so we highly recommend using chem safe gloves as well as a mask.

Here's how to clean an oven fast, easy and cheap!

  1. Grab a can of 'Easy off Bam Power Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner'
  2. Remove the racks, trays and side racks from your oven so it's totally empty
  3. Take the racks, trays etc outside onto a safe surface (grass is good)
  4. Put on protective gloves and mask
  5. Cover the racks etc in the foam, ensuring to cover both sides of the items
  6. If possible, leave overnight, or at least 2-3 hours
  7. Use the foam to also spray inside the oven - all the surfaces including the glass door on the inside
  8. Leave the oven for 2-3 hours
  9. With the racks etc outside you should be able to simply hose them off and dry them! (especially if you were able to leave them overnight!)
  10. With the oven, it should be a simply case of wiping it out - I like to use an old towel, then go over the top with a wet microfiber cloth
  11.  If you have any of the cleaner left, you can use it on your BBQ!

I hope this helped turn your nightmare job into a dream!
