How to protect your bond with a Spring Clean!

Having a routine inspection every 3 months ensures the basics are being done regularly, but an annual deep clean can save you hours on your vacate clean, which may save you money and protect your bond when it comes time to vacate!  Here are some top tips for a spring clean which will leave you with a spring in your step and ready for the new month ahead!  Happy cleaning!

1. PREP: Before you start, tidy personal items in your space, vacuum carpets and floor mats, sweep and mop flooring or tiles.

2. DUST: Start at the top and work your way down – don’t forget the top of fans and around the cornice.  You can buy long handled dusters which make these jobs a breeze, including the skirting  boards.

3. WALLS: Everyday use can cause scuff marks, dust and grease.  Use sugar soap or white vinegar with a micro fibre cloth or sponge to gently remove any build up.

4. WINDOWS TRACKS/SILLS/SCREENS: these areas will accumulate dust, dirt, cobwebs and insects.  A hand brush or vacuum can ensure your window areas look top notch.

5. HIDDEN AREAS: now is a good time to vacuum under large furniture and inside cupboards and the bottom of the robe!

6. CARPETS: There’s nothing like a good, professional clean of the carpets.  It can eliminate allergens and most stains, and will help protect your bond!  We can personally recommend Mark from RMD Carpets – he does an amazing job but his prices are the lowest we have come across.  Mark can be reached on – 0434 222 858 or visit Mark's website here
